Packers/Vikings Game Photo Experiment
// October 5th, 2009 // 4 Comments » // Photos
I’ll be at the Packers/Vikings game tonight in Minneapolis. It should be fun lots of fun! Based on the info I’ve read I think I’ll be able to bring my Nikon DSLR camera in and hope to take some sweet photos. I’m going to try a little experiment where some of the photos I take will actually be uploaded to the internet during the game.
If you want to check out my photos I’ll be uploading them to the photo sharing site Flickr. This will let people view them at better quality. I’ll still be shooting these photos at a much lower quality for faster uploads, but they’ll be much better than a camera phone, plus I’ve got a telephoto lens so you might actually be able to make out the individual players on the field (we’ll be in the second deck). To see the photos just check out my Flickr Photostream.
The way I’m uploading the photos will also automatically post a tweet on Twitter. Some of you already follow me, but if you’re not into the whole Twitter thing that’s cool. The links will automatically show up on my Twitter feed/page/[whatever you want to call it] and you can even be notified if you set it up to do so. You can follow me on Twitter @BjornHanson. If you look on Twitter or Flickr you’ll see I already posted a couple test photos that were uploaded from my phone, so it should work.
There’s a very small chance something could go wrong, so I apologize in advance if you look for photos and see nothing. There is a chance my camera or bag will be denied as being too “professional” (but I’ve seen photos of games at the Metrodome from others with cameras like mine, so hopefully that shouldn’t be a problem) or my cell phone won’t get very good reception in the dome…or my phone battery will die. Unfortunately my phone battery isn’t lasting very long anymore, and though I ordered a new battery it won’t be here today…so this will probably be the biggest factor limiting the number of photos I am able to upload.
Hope you enjoy the game if you watch. Go Packers!
